BK10 Outdoor Dining Chair

Carl Hansen & Søn

The BK10 Outdoor Dining Chair has been created by Bodil Kjær for Carl Hansen. Danish architect and industrial designer Kjær is held in high esteem for the modular series of office furniture she designed in the 1960s. This includes tables with inset drawers, storage units with adjustable shelves and drawers that can be put under a table or next to a wall. The BK10 Outdoor Dining Chair that she designed in 1959 is another one of her popular designs that is still in demand today. She designed the chair as part of her Indoor-Outdoor Series which became a benchmark for outdoor furniture. Made of certified, untreated teak/FSC™, it has a backrest that is angled back to provide hours of leaned-back, comfortable lounging. The backrest and seat are made of evenly-sized slats and are encased within a frame made of matching wood that is shaped into rectangles.
